Nationally Recognized Programs

We’ve earned full accreditation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. This distinction recognizes our commitment to delivering the highest-quality, patient-centered care.

In addition to our current treatments, we offer access to clinical trials, right here at home. Our physicians have been recognized among the top 10 percent of clinical trial enrollers in the country by the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) community oncology research program, honoring our commitment to give more patients access to these promising new therapies and treatments.

Prevention and Early Detection

Your best defense against cancer is to prevent it from occurring, or catching it in its earliest stages, when it’s highly treatable. We provide the latest cancer screenings, including digital and 3D mammography, low-dose lung CT scans, colonoscopy and more. Advanced imaging services, including CT, MRI and ultrasound, are also available at our nearby outpatient locations to help confirm a diagnosis and put you on the fast track to treatment.

If you have a family history of cancer, we offer genetic cancer counseling to address hereditary cancer concerns. If needed, your counselor will also coordinate genetic testing, walk through the results and help plan for any next steps. 

Advanced Treatments and Therapies

We partner with Saint Joseph Hospital to offer the most sophisticated radiation therapy to target tumors with extreme precision.

Should you need surgery, we treat a variety of cancers using the minimally invasive da Vinci® Xi robotic surgical system. In fact, Saint Joseph East is the first hospital in Central Kentucky to earn designation as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery—offering patients significantly less pain, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery.

CHI Saint Joseph Health – Breast Care Center at Saint Joseph East is here to help women throughout Lexington take charge of their breast health through compassionate, high-quality care. We offer all-digital and 3D mammography to detect even small tumors, as well as stereotactic and ultrasound-breast biopsies, two minimally invasive alternatives to open surgical biopsy. If you receive a diagnosis of breast cancer, our board-certified radiation oncologists offer some of the latest and safest treatments available.
