Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Achieves Stroke Ready Certification Through Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC)

MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (July 20, 2022) – Saint Joseph Mount Sterling has once again achieved Stroke Ready Certification through the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), an internationally recognized accrediting body that recognizes health care organizations demonstrating compliance with national standards. The ACHC has recertified Saint Joseph Mount Sterling for the next three years.

ACHC Stroke Care Certification is designed to educate and build excellence across the continuum from “stroke ready” to comprehensive neurosurgical care so that patients can be assured they’re in the best hands.

“When it comes to a stroke, there is no time to hesitate, which is why our team is trained to act quickly and efficiently while providing high quality care to our patients,” said Jennifer Nolan, president, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling. “This certification symbolizes our commitment to this high level of service, and our patients can feel confident they are receiving the best stroke care possible.”

To achieve certification by the ACHC, health care facilities must demonstrate compliance with national standards. Certification reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

Saint Joseph Mount Sterling is nationally recognized for its stroke care program and provides stroke patients with rapid treatment and proper medications to help save lives and prevent long-term disability. For patients needing more comprehensive care, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling coordinates immediate transfer to nearby Primary Stroke Centers.
