CHI Saint Joseph Health Market President Anthony Houston to Leave Ministry in June

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 2, 2024) – CHI Saint Joseph Health Market President Anthony Houston, Ed.D., FACHE, will leave the organization at the end of June. Houston, who has been with the ministry for three years, has accepted the role of market president for the CommonSpirit Health Arizona market. CHI Saint Joseph Health is also a member of CommonSpirit.

“It is with mixed emotions that I make this move in my career. My roots are in Kentucky and joining this ministry in 2021 was a coming-home of sorts,” said Houston, a Cincinnati native. “I have been privileged to serve alongside incredibly talented and committed teammates at CHI Saint Joseph Health and look forward to seeing their continued success in serving our communities.”

Houston was selected to lead the Arizona market after an extensive national search. Prior to joining CHI Saint Joseph Health, he served as president and market COO for CHI Memorial in Chattanooga, Tenn., and as president of CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, Ark.; both markets are also part of CommonSpirit Health.

“During his tenure, Tony has guided our Kentucky market through many challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the adoption of a new electronic health record system,” said CommonSpirit South Region President Doug Lawson. “He set the Kentucky market on a path for a successful future with a strong leadership team, and he focused on enhancing culture and environment to deliver the best available care for patients.”

CHI Saint Joseph Health Board Chair Mary-Alicha Weldon thanked Houston for his leadership and accomplishments.

“Tony led our ministry with a team-oriented approach, recognizing the important role each and every caregiver plays in caring for our communities,” Weldon said. “He lived our mission in pursuit of our vision of a healthier future for all. We wish him and his family only the best as they make this transition.”

CommonSpirit Health has launched a national search for Houston’s successor.
