If you currently have a provider with CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group, call your provider’s office to make an appointment for a virtual visit. New patients can call 859.313.2255 to schedule an initial in-person visit. You may be asked to leave a message at which point a representative will be in contact with you shortly.

How to Set Up Your Virtual Visit

A virtual visit lets you meet with your provider through a video call, instead of going into the clinic. Once you have a virtual visit scheduled with your provider, follow these steps:

From your mobile device

  1. Download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app. You do not need to create an account.
  2. Once you have the Zoom Cloud app open, return to the link provided in your appointment confirmation email and click “Join.”

From your computer

  1. Type in the following website address:
  2. If prompted, please type in your 10-digit meeting ID number.

With both of these methods, you will be placed in the virtual waiting room until your provider arrives. Make sure the microphone and camera are on as indicated on the bottom of the screen.


What is a Virtual Visit and Other Frequently Asked Questions

A virtual visit is an appointment with your provider using Zoom, a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing tool. It’s similar to an in-person visit, except you don’t have to go to the clinic.

The cost is about the same as an in-person appointment.

It depends on your insurance coverage. If you are required to pay a co-pay during an in-person visit, then it will also apply for your video visit. You may receive a mailed request for payment.

You must have an Internet-enabled device—like a smartphone, tablet, or computer—with a camera and a speakerphone. Cellular data charges may apply if you are not using Wi-Fi. Check with your carrier if you have questions about your data plan.

It should be about the same as an in-person visit.

It’s best to be in a private location with a strong Internet connection.

Depending on the nature of your visit, a thermometer, blood pressure measurement and a flashlight could be helpful.
