Saint Joseph Hospital is a 433-bed facility located in Lexington, Kentucky. Founded in 1877, a small group of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Kentucky, led by Sister Euphrasia Stafford, began their health ministry. Their mission was to provide compassionate care to the poor and underserved – a tradition still carried out today. Saint Joseph Hospital primarily serves central and eastern Kentucky with a full range of services, including distinguished awards for cardiology, orthopedics and stroke care.
The Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, on behalf of the Women’s Hospital at Saint Joseph East, has received a $20,000 grant from WHAS Crusade for Children to purchase equipment that will assist the hospital’s most vulnerable patients – newborns.
Construction is now complete on a new CHI Saint Joseph Health medical office building, which will house primary and specialty care services under one roof to make access to a growing network of health care providers as easy as possible for patients.
