Saint Joseph Mount Sterling to Hold Family Health Fair for
National Health Center Week

Mt. Sterling, Ky. (August 1, 2016) – Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, part of KentuckyOne Health, will partner with Sterling Health Solutions and the Montgomery County Health Department to host a family health fair. The event will take place on Saturday, August 13 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the baseball field at Easy Walker Park, located at 1395 Osborne Road.

The health fair is in recognition of National Health Center Week, which celebrates health centers delivering high-quality, cost-effective, accessible care while also serving as a critical staple in local economies.

Participants can enjoy a healthy food cook-off competition, free health screenings and giveaways, a community blood drive, Kids Fun Zone, and food and activities for the entire family. You can also register in advance online for a chance to win a Fitbit Charge at www.kentuckyonehealth.org/mount-sterling-health-fair.

“This event helps bring our community together for a fun and healthy event,” said Benny Nolen, president, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling. “We hope people will take advantage of the free screenings, as they continue to make their health a priority in their lives.”

KentuckyOne Health will host the event with Sterling Health Solutions and the Montgomery County Health Department. Sterling Health Solutions is a nonprofit organization made up of community health leaders to increase access to medical, dental and mental health care in Appalachian Eastern Kentucky. The Montgomery County Health Department offers health services to local community members, no matter their ability to pay. The health department is committed to protecting and improving the health of the community.

“We are proud to partner with Saint Joseph Mount Sterling to once again host this event for the community,” said Harold Brown, CEO, Sterling Health Solutions. “This is a wonderful event that impacts so many of our community members, and we hope people will take advantage of the screenings and fun activities that it offers.”

“Health centers are critical to the community and we are fortunate to have Sterling Health Solutions. This health fair provides an opportunity for them to showcase the services that health centers provide,” said Jan Chamness, Public Health Director, Montgomery County Health Department.  “We are thrilled to be a sponsor of this wonderful event, and look forward to a fun and educational day at the health fair.”

Saint Joseph Mount Sterling will also have a recruiter at the event, for anyone interested in learning about a future career with the hospital.
