Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Names New President

Mt. Sterling, Ky. (November 10, 2017) - KentuckyOne Health has named Terrence G. Deis as the new president of Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, effective immediately.

This is an expanded leadership role for Deis, who has served as president at Saint Joseph London since 2015. He will remain president in London, but also assume that role at both Saint Joseph Mount Sterling and Saint Joseph Berea.

“Terry is a proven leader with a commitment to Kentucky and the communities we serve,” said Bruce Tassin, market CEO for KentuckyOne Health. “Under Terry’s leadership, the quality of patient care and employee satisfaction has continued to improve at Saint Joseph London. By aligning London with Saint Joseph Mount Sterling and Saint Joseph Berea, Terry will be able to share best practices across the facilities and improve our ability to bring wellness, healing and hope to all.”

Deis has more than 22 years of diverse hospital management experience, including financial, operational, technical and strategic leadership. Before coming to KentuckyOne Health, he served as president and chief executive officer of UH Parma Medical Center, a 332-bed acute care facility with 2,000 employees located in Parma, Ohio.

Deis has led many quality and operational improvement initiatives. Since joining Saint Joseph London, the hospital has been recognized nationally for providing an outstanding patient experience, excellence in rural health care and named one of the best hospitals for heart failure procedures by U.S. News & World Report (2016).

Deis is a certified public accountant and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bowling Green State University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Cleveland State University.

Outside of his professional life, Deis enjoys participating in and supporting local events in his community, including 5K runs and local projects.
