Saint Joseph London to Host Special “After Dark” Bite Size Learning Education Event
Free health education event at Laurel County Public Library


London, Ky. (September 3, 2015)— Saint Joseph London, part of KentuckyOne Health, invites the community to learn more about the specialty of sports medicine at a special “after dark” Bite Size Learning health education event on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Laurel County Public Library.

Jay Shah, MD, a sports medicine physician and orthopedic surgeon with KentuckyOne Health Orthopedic Associates in London, will be the featured guest speaker at the program

Dr. Shah, who is new to Saint Joseph London, will provide an overview of the sports medicine specialty including common injuries and treatments, as well as tips for when to seek a specialist. A question and answer period will be included in the event.

Bite Size Learning is a yearlong educational series sponsored by Saint Joseph London. Regular events occur on the third Wednesday of each month at the Laurel County Public Library, located at 120 College Park Drive in London.  Each month, a physician or staff member from Saint Joseph London hosts a special lunch-and-learn-style presentation on a different health topic to increase awareness and educate the public. Advance registration is required.

This month’s “after dark” Bite Size Learning event will be held in addition to the regular scheduled daytime event on September 16, 2015 from noon to 1 p.m. featuring Ashu Joshi, MD, an internal medicine specialist with KentuckyOne Health Primary Care Associates in London. Dr. Joshi will speak about the medical condition Fibromyalgia.
