Saint Joseph London Names New Chief Nursing Officer


London, Ky. (July 20, 2015)— Saint Joseph London, part of KentuckyOne Health, has named L. Stephen O’Neal, Jr., RN, BSN, MBA, chief nursing officer (CNO). His appointment as CNO officially begins on July 20, 2015.

O’Neal is a proven healthcare leader with more than 18 years of experience from hospitals in Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida. He most recently served as chief clinical officer for Manchester Memorial Hospital in Manchester, Ky., part of Adventist Health System. At Manchester Memorial, he successfully helped add new service lines and improve quality measures.

“Stephen is a results-oriented leader with extensive experience in quality improvement, patient experience, satisfaction and service line development,” said Terry Deis, president, Saint Joseph London. “His expertise will be an asset to our facility as well as to our patients.”

O’Neal is a registered nurse. He began his career as a clinical care nurse in the neuro/trauma surgical intensive care unit at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., a level 1 trauma center.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences and a Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University.

O’Neal replaces Joan Sevy-Majers who has served as interim CNO of Saint Joseph London since September 2014.
