Saint Joseph Berea to Open Outpatient Infusion Center
New center will offer convenient infusion treatments with no hospital admission required

Berea, Ky. (October 3, 2016) – Saint Joseph Berea, part of KentuckyOne Health, will open an outpatient infusion center on the first floor of the hospital, located at 305 Estill Street in Berea. This new center, scheduled to open on Wednesday, October 19, will expand Saint Joseph Berea’s current infusion options for both patients and providers.

The outpatient infusion center will provide intravenous infusions of fluids, medications and therapeutic injections, in an accessible outpatient environment. Infusion therapy is particularly beneficial for patients that cannot take medications by mouth.

“The outpatient infusion center will offer patients a quick and convenient way to receive certain medications in a comfortable, outpatient environment,” said Eric Gilliam, president, Saint Joseph Berea. “Receiving outpatient services allows patients to live at home, attend school, or remain on the job, without disrupting their daily routine. By offering these services in a non-hospital environment, we can also provide them at a lower cost to the patient, and can work around the patient’s schedule for appointments.”

“We are focused on patient safety and comfort, and the outpatient infusion center is another way that our patients will benefit from services we offer,” said Sandra Rose, director of ancillary and support services, Saint Joseph Berea. “Outpatient infusion therapy can save patients thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket medical expenses, and also save them time and travel expenses. We are thrilled to offer patients this welcoming environment that is also close to home.”

The new center will offer a full-scale of infusion services for patients with conditions such as:
•    Anemia
•    Crohn’s Disease
•    CIDP
•    Immune deficiency
•    Multiple sclerosis
•    Neuropathy
•    Polymyositis
•    Rheumatoid arthritis
•    Ulcerative colitis

Saint Joseph Berea will celebrate the opening of the new outpatient infusion center with a ribbon cutting and open house on Wednesday, October 19 from 4-6 p.m. The ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m. The public is invited to tour the new center, and meet the staff and providers. Refreshments will be served.

The outpatient infusion center at Saint Joseph Berea will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information or to make an appointment, call 859.756.0390.
