Peace for Parents Seminar Focuses on Childhood Behavioral Issues

Louisville, Ky. (February 9, 2016) —  To provide parents with the tools they often need, the Kosair Charities Children’s Peace Center at Our Lady of Peace, part of KentuckyOne Health, will hold a free Peace for Parents seminar open to the community at Luhr Elementary School at 6900 Fegenbush Lane in Louisville on Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 6-7 p.m.

The seminar entitled “Managing Difficult Childhood Behaviors at Home and at School,” will offer attendees strategies to avoid incidents of challenging behaviors in home and school settings. When addressed at a young age, children’s challenging behaviors can be transformed to positive behavior

Licensed Behavior Analyst Jordan Hall, MS, BCBA, will speak at the event and will examine possible motives of children’s challenging behaviors to determine the most effective interventions caregivers can utilize. Hall will also discuss preventative guidelines for arranging home and school environments, as well as setting expectations and encouraging positive behaviors.

The seminar is part of the Peace for Parents education series located across the state. Peace for Parents is open to parents, grandparents, teachers, counselors and other concerned individuals that would like to learn more about how to face challenging issues with children and adolescents. The seminars usually last 60-90 minutes and include a question and answer period.

Participants are encouraged to register for the program in advance. Register for free by contacting Greg Oerther at 502.479.4266 or [email protected].
