Our Lady of Peace Hosts Open House for Teens with Substance Abuse Issues in Hardin and Meade Counties
Facility Recently Launched New Peace Promises Outpatient Satellite Program

Louisville, Ky. (March 8, 2016) – Our Lady of Peace, part of KentuckyOne Health, is now serving adolescents with substance abuse issues in Hardin and Meade counties. The facility launched the satellite Peace Promises program in February, an after-school, intensive outpatient program for substance users, which takes place three days per week at the Brown Street Education Center in Vine Grove, Ky.

Our Lady of Peace invites parents, teens, teachers and other professionals to attend an open house about the Peace Promises program on Tuesday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Brown Street Education Center at 400 Brown Street, Vine Grove, Ky.

“This satellite program will help us reach teens in surrounding counties of Louisville, who may not otherwise be able to receive outpatient care,” said Janine Dewey, director of school-based services, Our Lady of Peace".

Peace Promises uses The Seven Challenges® system – an evidence-based, nationally-recognized approach – to help teens make healthy, drug-free choices. Program participants will learn how to think about their decisions, talk about their problems and develop a network of support. The program works to improve teens’ lives and their relationships with family, school and the community. The treatment team includes certified alcohol and drug counselors and licensed therapists. Transportation assistance is available for program participants.

The open house event on March 15 will give parents and teens an overview of the Peace Promises program to help them decide if the program is a good fit for their unique situation. Parents and teens of all ages and backgrounds, along with teachers and other professionals are welcome to attend.
