KentuckyOne Health Walk With a Doc events return to Louisville neighborhoods
Events offer opportunity to enjoy benefits of exercise, empowerment

Louisville, Ky. (March 23, 2015)—Would you enjoy getting the benefits of exercise while you get your health questions answered at the same time? Walk With a Doc events, hosted by KentuckyOne Health, can do that for you—and more. These sessions are returning to Louisville neighborhoods in 2015. Events will be held in The Parklands of Floyds Fork, Iroquois Park and Shawnee Park every month.

Each month, Walk With a Doc events feature a different physician and focus on a particular health topic. Participants can engage in a heart-healthy walk while having the chance to ask the health professional their medical questions in a comfortable, casual setting.

The walk series is part of a nationwide program that empowers people to improve their health through physical activity while they exercise side-by-side with health care providers. Walkers have the opportunity to learn about important health topics, and they receive free health screenings, refreshments and giveaways.

Participants are encouraged to invite family and friends to walk together toward a healthier lifestyle.

“The benefits of regular exercise, including brisk walking, are vast,” said Deborah Ballard, MD, KentuckyOne Health Primary Care. “A number of health conditions, such as low bone density, high blood pressure and heart disease, can all be improved through regular exercise.”

Unless otherwise noted, all Walk With a Doc events take place at 10 a.m. Location changes due to colder weather are noted below. The 2015 Walk with a Doc schedule is as follows:
