KentuckyOne Health to Honor Veterans Thursday During Pre-Veterans Day Ceremonies

WHAT:
In honor of Veterans Day, KentuckyOne Health will honor veterans in the community, and the nearly 270 veterans on staff, by holding two pre-Veterans Day ceremonies at University of Louisville Hospital and Jewish Hospital, both part of KentuckyOne Health.

WHEN:
Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016

1 p.m. ceremony at University of Louisville Hospital

2 p.m. ceremony at Jewish Hospital

 
OPPORTUNITIES:
•    Photo/video of honor guard from American Legion G.I. Joe Post #244 presenting colors at both ceremonies
•    Interviews at ULH: Steve Amsler, vice president of operations, KentuckyOne Health downtown facilities; Ryan Parker, vice president of diversity and inclusion, KentuckyOne Health
•    Interviews at Jewish Hospital:  Joe Gilene, president, Jewish Hospital, and downtown market leader; Ryan Parker, vice president of diversity and inclusion, KentuckyOne Health.

MORE:
Following the two ceremonies, American flags will be available to place in the ground to honor service members. American Legion Post #244 will later retrieve the flags to place on the graves of veterans.

In addition, veterans who work for KentuckyOne Health have received a special Veterans Day pin to use for a free meal at KentuckyOne Health facilities from Nov. 11 through the weekend.
