KentuckyOne Health Names Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer of Jewish Hospital and Frazier Rehab Institute

Louisville, Ky. (October 13, 2015) – KentuckyOne Health has named Shawn O’Connor, DNP, RN, MBA, FACHE, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer (CNO) of Jewish Hospital and Frazier Rehab Institute.

In this role, O’Connor will provide overall strategic and administrative direction to nursing staff working in services located at both Jewish Hospital and Frazier Rehab Institute. In addition, she will partner closely with the other CNOS across KentuckyOne Health to improve the continuum of care.

O’Connor has more than 40 years experience in nursing, including 27 years at the CNO level. Most recently, she served as CNO at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital in Illinois where she led the organization in their achievement of Magnet Designation. She has extensive skills in successful daily hospital operations, resulting in high quality, evidence-based interdisciplinary patient care. She has successfully led large-scale projects, strategically gained market share, improved the patient experience and created a culture of accountability in the hospitals where she worked. 

O’Connor completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Rush University with a focus on Health Systems Leadership. She begins her new role at KentuckyOne Health on November 2.
