John B. “Jack” Lally Honored by Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation
National Philanthropy Day Luncheon honors top area philanthropists

Lexington, Ky. (November 16, 2015) — Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, part of KentuckyOne Health, honored the late John B. “Jack” Lally at this year’s National Philanthropy Day luncheon on Thursday, November 12, 2015. Lally was a foundation supporter who was passionate about improving access to pulmonary care.

“Mr. Lally always welcomed good health care dialogue and was the largest philanthropist to-date in support of Saint Joseph East,” said Eric Gilliam, president, Saint Joseph East. “We enjoyed his wit and the staff here loved him equally.”
Lally’s contributions to the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation are far-reaching. The John B. Lally Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Healthy Lifestyle Center was recently completed at Saint Joseph East, part of KentuckyOne Health. A ribbon cutting for the facility is planned for January 2016.

The annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon recognizes individuals or groups who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the community through philanthropic endeavors. Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation was among 25 organizations to honor their top philanthropists at the annual event, hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Bluegrass Chapter. The event drew more than 400 people to the Marriott Griffin Gate.

The award was accepted on behalf of the Lally Family by longtime friend and business associate John Mocker. Lally passed away in June 2015.

“Jack was a true gentleman that loved his family and the beautiful bluegrass of Kentucky. He was a believer in supporting healthcare philanthropy,” said Di Boyer, director of major gifts, Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful for his many generous contributions that have brought wellness, healing and hope to thousands of patients and their families.”
