Jennifer Nolan Named New President of Flaget Memorial Hospital

Bardstown, Ky. (August 11, 2017) --- KentuckyOne Health has named Jennifer Nolan as the new president of Flaget Memorial Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health. The new leadership position will be effective September 1, 2017. Nolan currently serves as president of Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital and Our Lady of Peace hospital in Louisville.

She will continue as president of Our Lady of Peace, along with her new role as president of Flaget Memorial. Rick VanCise will remain the vice president of operations for Flaget. Charles Powell, president of KentuckyOne Health Medical Group, will assume the role of president at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth on September 1, 2017.

She will bring that same level of leadership and dedication to the Bardstown community.”

Nolan joined KentuckyOne Health in 2011 as president of the Our Lady of Peace, one of the largest behavioral health hospitals in the U.S.  She was later named president of Sts. Mary & Elizabeth, an acute care community hospital in South Louisville. Prior to coming to KentuckyOne Health, Nolan served 10 years in roles of chief executive officer and chief operating officer for leading health systems ranging in size from 100 to 295 beds throughout the south.

Under her leadership, Our Lady of Peace expanded its child, adolescent and adult outpatient and outreach services. In addition, Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, which has one of the busiest emergency departments in Louisville, underwent a $9 million renovation and expansion to more efficiently provide emergency care services to the community.

During her tenure, Nolan has received several accolades for hospital leadership including the 2016 and 2017 “Best Places to Work Award” presented to Our Lady of Peace from the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management; and the 2012, 2014 and 2017 “Quality Awards” from the Kentucky Hospital Association. Nolan also received a special recognition for “Exemplary Leadership” from the Kentucky Hospital Association for the evacuation of a hospital during Hurricane Katrina.

Nolan has also co-authored a case study for a journal article, “How to Evacuate a Psychiatric Hospital: A Hurricane Katrina Success Story” in the Journal of Psychosocial Nursing.

Nolan and her husband John, have three daughters.
