In celebration of February being American Health Month, women participating in this event will learn hands-only CPR before taking the court. Individuals can be trained in hands-only CPR in as little as five minutes. A report from the Institute of Medicine found that individuals who live in areas where bystanders are more likely to start CPR have a better chance of survival following out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Not only is hands-only CPR easier for the public to learn and remember, but research shows bystanders are more likely to act when they don’t have to do mouth-to-mouth.
