Flaget Memorial Hospital Receives Crusade for Children Grant

Bardstown, KY. (April 28, 2015) --- Flaget Memorial Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health, has been awarded a grant from the WHAS Crusade for Children to purchase a new infant warmer bed for the hospital’s birth center.  The Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation provided matching funds.

Keeping an infant warm during the first hours after the birth is important for their health and well-being. This new infant warmer bed enables Flaget Memorial Hospital to continue providing high quality care to the youngest of patients, providing thermal stability and a healthy start in life.

“We are so grateful to the Crusade for Children and the Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation for their continued support of our hospital and our newest patients,” said Sue Downs, hospital president.  “Their support to purchase this lifesaving equipment is further testament to their confidence in the care we provide to the Nelson County community.”

This past year, Flaget Memorial Hospital proudly delivered more than 260 babies from Nelson and five surrounding counties.  Since the hospital’s founding in 1951, approximately 16,000 babies have been born at Flaget Memorial Hospital.
