Flaget Memorial Hospital Honors Employees with Daisy and ROSE Awards

Bardstown, Ky. (October 29, 2015)—Flaget Memorial Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health, has named its Daisy Award and ROSE Award winners for the third quarter of 2015. Marian Willett, RN, surgical services, is the recipient of the Daisy Award. Jessica Greenwell, imaging/pain management, has received the ROSE Award.

The Daisy Award is a nationwide program that celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care provided by nurses every day. KentuckyOne Health is proud to be a Daisy Award Partner, recognizing one nurse with this special honor each quarter.

Marian Willett, RN, surgical services, was nominated by her colleague Wendy Welch, RN, surgical services, for 35 outstanding years of service to the Flaget Memorial Hospital community. Willett is known for treating everyone with dignity, compassion and respect. After a coworker experienced a stroke in 2011, Willett was there through it all, taking her to doctor appointments, helping with daily activities and showing unconditional support.

Similarly, The ROSE Award is a program that honors Flaget Memorial’s non-nursing personnel. The ROSE Award – short for Recognition of Service Excellence – celebrates unsung heroes who work tirelessly to provide the best possible service.

Jessica Greenwell of the pain management unit was nominated by her colleague Rhonda Wathen for her helpfulness during Wathen’s transition to the department, as well as Greenwell’s positive attitude and ability to reassure each patient.

The Daisy Award winner will receive a certificate, Daisy award pin and a hand-carved stone sculpture. The ROSE Award winner is honored with a certificate, ROSE pin and a bouquet of roses to display in her department.
