Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation Announces its 4th Annual Community Health & Wellness Fair—Saturday, September 26, 2015

Bardstown, Ky. (August 10, 2015)—Make plans to attend the 4th Annual Flaget Community Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Flaget Memorial Hospital, 4305 New Shepherdsville Road. The health fair is free and open to the public. More than 70 Flaget Memorial and health partner booths will be available to provide free health screenings, assessments, and wellness education.  A healthy cooking demonstration, Kidz Zone, door prizes and free giveaways will also be available for participants.

“Many health problems and diseases leading to premature death or disability are preventable. The Community Health & Wellness Fair advances health awareness, providing people with the tools they need to take responsibility for their own health. The fair makes available life-saving, professional health screenings and education programs,” said Norma Goss, chief nursing and operations officer at Flaget Memorial Hospital.

Heidi Wilhelm, director of development for Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation said, “The generous support we receive from the business community is essential. Support not only enables us to put on the fair, it helps us and our health partners provide free health screenings and educational materials at no cost to the community. With past sponsorship dollars, we were able to purchase three new cholesterol and blood sugar meters this year.  This will enable us to quadruple the number of screenings we conduct.”

Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation works with corporate, foundation and philanthropic partners to secure financial and programmatic assistance to enhance the hospital mission and provide our local community with the patient care services and outreach programs it deserves.
