Eighth Annual Saint Joseph London Gala Raises $26,000
Aqeel Mandviwala, MD, awarded Physician of the Year

London, Ky. (February 8, 2017) – The eighth annual Saint Joseph London Gala raised $26,000 for the Saint Joseph London Foundation, part of KentuckyOne Health. The Mardi-Gras themed evening featuring dinner, dancing and a silent auction was held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the London Community Center.

“We were thrilled with the turnout and funds raised at this year’s gala,” said Karen Hyde, committee chair, Saint Joseph London Foundation. “This gala is so important because the proceeds are used to further the success of health care initiatives at Saint Joseph London, allowing us to provide outstanding patient care facilities and services, advanced clinical research and improved access to quality medical care.”

Aqeel Mandviwala, MD, KentuckyOne Health Pulmonology Associates in London, was awarded Physician of the Year at the event. Dr. Mandviwala specializes in internal medicine, pulmonology, and sleep medicine.

“Dr. Mandviwla is well-known by his colleagues and patients for providing compassionate care,” said Shelley Stanko, MD, Saint Joseph London Hospital. “He is a dedicated physician who takes the time to provide both the highest quality of care and detailed documentation, and also communicates often with families.”

Dr. Mandviwala is described as being a pillar in the London community. He has cared for patients in London and the surrounding counties for over 20 years.

Over the past eight years, money raised at the Saint Joseph London Gala has helped with area projects, including bringing lifesaving equipment to local EMS that helps save the lives of heart attack victims being transported to the hospital and clear blockages sooner upon arrival.

“These are the type of lifesaving gifts that are bringing wellness, healing and hope to the communities we serve,” said Scott Webster, chair, Board of Directors, Saint Joseph London Foundation. “We are so grateful for the support we receive from the community as we work to build a healthier community.”

Sponsors of the Saint Joseph London Foundation Gala include 1st National Bank and Trust, purple carpet sponsor, and Legacy Nissan, entertainment sponsor, among others.
