Dr. Kevin Moore Joins KentuckyOne Health Primary Care Associates in Bardstown

 
Bardstown, Ky. (August 3, 2017) – COL (ret) Kevin Moore, MD, has joined KentuckyOne Health Primary Care Associates, located at 919D Chambers Boulevard in Bardstown.
 
Dr. Moore brings more than two decades of military and civilian medical experience to Bardstown. He received his medical degree from the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, in 1995. Dr. Moore then completed both his family medicine internship and residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia.  
 
Dr. Moore has served his country as a physician both at home and abroad. In 2003, Dr. Moore deployed to Iraq as the Battalion Surgeon for the 1-30th Infantry Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also served from 2012 to 2013 as the senior medical officer for the Multinational Force and Observers peacekeeping mission in the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula providing medical care and coordination for more than 2,200 personnel assigned to multiple sites across Sinai Desert.  
 
Other military duty assignments for Dr. Moore included serving for six years as the Family Medicine Residency Director for Dewitt Army Community Hospital; Deputy Commander for Education, Research and Training for the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital; and most recently, Chief of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. As Department Chief, Dr. Moore oversaw more than 500 personnel providing care to 54,000 patients across five distinct clinics.
 
His military awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medical (six Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. He was inducted in 2012 in the Order of the Military Medical Merit. Dr. Moore was also recognized in 2004 with the Surgeon General’s Recognition Award as one of the outstanding physicians in the U.S. Army.  
 
Dr. Moore is board-certified in family medicine continuously since 1998. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians.
