Cocktails for Cancer Event to Benefit Yes Mamm! Program
Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation funds will provide lifesaving screening and treatment support
Lexington, Ky. (October 8, 2014) – Ladies of Lexington are invited to enjoy Cocktails for Cancer in support of the 12 percent of women affected by breast cancer. The girls night out event will be held at the Lexus Store of Lexington on Wednesday, October 15 from 5 – 8 p.m.
Cocktails for Cancer is part of a month-long Pink Ribbon Fundraising Campaign benefitting the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, part of KentuckyOne Health. Money raised will benefit the Yes Mamm! Program, which provides lifesaving screening, patient navigation, treatment support and treatment programs for reduced or low cost.
At the free event, attendees can enjoy a signature cocktail, live music, chair massages and light hors d'oeuvres. Doctors and breast care staff from Saint Joseph East, part of KentuckyOne Health, will be on hand to educate attendees on breast health, screenings and treatment options. The event will also feature giveaways, and the chance to win the ultimate spa package, complete with a full array of services and wine at Mickey Salon & Spa. The winner will also receive a spa package for their car from the Lexus Store of Lexington, as well as chauffer services to and from Mickey Salon & Spa.
“Support from other women is so vital raising awareness and funding for breast cancer,” said Dan Defler, general manager, Lexus Store of Lexington. “We’re excited to host this ladies’ night to spark that important camaraderie, while raising funds to provide mammograms and other services to those who need it.”
As part of the fundraiser, supported by the Lexus Store of Lexington, LM Communications and KentuckyOne Health Cancer Care, the Lexus Store of Lexington will don new and used vehicles with a pink ribbon throughout the month of October. With the vehicle’s purchase, the Lexus Store will make a donation to Yes Mamm! Program. The Lexus Store of Lexington is located at 1264 E New Circle Rd.
Yearly mammograms are recommended for all women beginning at age 40 and continuing as long as they are in good health. Through the “Yes Mamm!” Program, more than 500 women will receive free or reduced cost mammograms at Saint Joseph Hospital, Saint Joseph East, Saint Joseph Berea and Saint Joseph London.
