“Art of Living” Exhibit to Showcase Power of Art for Those with Cancer

Living with cancer and undergoing treatment can be a scary experience for patients and caregivers. That’s why the James Graham Brown Cancer Center offers art therapy to those affected by cancer. Art therapy helps those coping with depression, anxiety and stress, by using the power of artistic expression. An upcoming art exhibit entitled “Art of Living” will showcase recent artwork created by patients of the James Graham Brown Cancer Center and their caregivers.

Showcase to be held in lobby

WHO:
•      Art therapy participants
•      Nancy Plymale, licensed art therapist

MORE:
The “Art of Living” showcase will include paintings, drawings and sculptures from patients and caregivers, created during therapy sessions over the past year.

In addition, there will be several art pieces at the showcase that will be available for community collaboration. Art supplies will be set up so that attendees can participate.
