University of Louisville Hospital Honors Organ Donor Families, Remembers Those Who Gave the Gift of Life - Archived

 

WHAT:           Donate Life Month Memorial Event

In recognition of Donate Life Month, University of Louisville Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health, and Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA) will honor organ donor families in a special ceremony to recognize those who have given the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. Families will be invited to plant flowers in honor of their loved ones at the hospital’s Memorial Garden. A new Donate Life flag will also be raised in front of University of Louisville Hospital.

                     1:00 p.m.

 

OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Family members of organ donor Sheldon Sharpe, will raise the new Donate Life flag  in front of University of Louisville Hospital, one of the country’s largest organ donation facilities
  • Dr. Glen Franklin, University of Louisville Hospital trauma surgeon
  • Paul O’Flynn, CEO, KODA
  • University of Louisville Hospital, KODA representatives and donor families plant flowers in the Legacy of Life Memorial Garden.
  • Interviews with families of organ donors
