University of Louisville Hospital Community Health Fair

 WHAT:          Free health screenings and workshops at community health fair hosted by The Diversity Committee for  University of Louisville Hospital and James Graham Brown Cancer Center,
                     part of KentuckyOne Health, in conjunction with Louisville Central Community Center (LCCC).

 WHERE:           Louisville Central Community Center
                    1300 West Muhammad Ali Blvd.

 WHEN:          Saturday, October 4, 2014
                     11 a.m. -3 p.m.
                     Mayor Fischer’s opening remarks will begin at 11 a.m.

 OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Mayor Fischer to deliver opening remarks
  • Senator Gerald Neal will attend
  • Interviews with University of Louisville Hospital staff about the screenings
  • Photos and video of free health screenings

The health fair will feature free hearing, vision, dental, blood pressure, stroke, blood glucose, DermaScan and cholesterol screenings. Free flu shots will be available to the first 50 attendees. The James Graham Brown Cancer Center’s Mobile Mammography Unit* will be providing mammograms throughout the day. Additionally, KentuckyOne Health’s inflatable colon will be on-site as well as experts who will provide information on breast, cervical, prostate, colon, skin, gynecological, lung cancers and more.

 

*Women interested in getting a mammogram from the Mobile Mammography Unit are encouraged to make an appointment ahead of time. Call to 502.852.6318 schedule.
