Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation Holds 4th Annual Yes, Mamm! 5K

Lexington, Ky. (September 6, 2018) — Hundreds of people are expected to hit the pavement on Saturday, October 13, to raise funds to help underinsured women get breast cancer screenings. The 4th Annual Yes, Mamm! 5K race will be held at R.J. Corman Railroad Group Headquarters in Nicholasville, located at 101 R.J. Corman Drive.

The event is open to all ages and includes music, homemade ice cream and a chip-timed walk/run. It raises funds for the Yes, Mamm! program, which provides mammography screening and diagnostics to underinsured patients. Every dollar raised will support Yes, Mamm! programs statewide, which serve individuals in 15 counties in the Commonwealth. The Yes Mamm! Program has provided screening for more than 2,000 women since its inception.

“Last year, this race raised nearly $30,000 for the Yes, Mamm! program to ensure women receive breast cancer screenings,” said Leslie Buddeke Smart, CFRE, president, Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation. “We know these screenings can detect cancer early and help save lives, and we are hoping to raise even more money this year to help additional women.

Registration for the Yes, Mamm! 5K is $35 until October 1. After that, people can register for $40 in person during packet pick-up on Friday, October 12, and the day of the event. KentuckyOne Health and RJ Corman employees can register for $25 on race day.

The race begins rain or shine at 9 a.m., with race day registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. To register online, visit www.kentuckyonehealth.org//chi-saint-joseph-health/ways-to-help/saint-joseph-hospital-foundation/events/yes-mamm/yes-mamm-5k.

Sponsors for this race include Susan G. Komen Lexington Affiliate, Breast Cancer Education Trust, Lexus of Lexington, Lexington Cancer Foundation, and the Kentucky CancerLink.
