This inaugural fundraiser will be held on August 16, 2014 from 7-11 p.m. at the Gheens Foundation Lodge at Beckley Creek Park in the Parklands of Floyds Fork, located at 1421 Beckley Creek Parkway in Louisville. The evening will include a silent auction, dinner and entertainment. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres begin at 7 p.m. with dinner served at 8 p.m. A silent auction, DJ and live music will be part of the entertainment. Attire is “country chic.”

All the funds raised from the event will go toward kid-friendly amenities at Our Lady of Peace. The Kosair Charities Children’s Peace Center at Our Lady of Peace helps more than 1,500 kids each year.  Our Lady of Peace was founded in the 1950s for adults, but as the focus has shifted to children’s care, the facility has taken significant steps to transform the physical facility into a truly child-focused environment. Projects have included new play areas and improved access to existing play spaces.

Our Lady of Peace is the state’s largest private, non-profit psychiatric hospital and offers a comprehensive array of treatment for people of all ages, including children, adolescents, adults and seniors. The Kosair Charities Children’s Peace Center diagnoses and treats children and adolescents with problems such as depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional behavior, bipolar disorder, unresolved grief and trauma, and substance abuse, as well as other psychiatric, chemical dependency and dual diagnosis disorders.
