MedSynergies Establishing Kentucky Service Center - Archived

IRVING, TEXAS and LOUISVILLE, KY (March 31, 2014) – MedSynergies Inc. and KentuckyOne Health today announced MedSynergies is establishing a physician billing service center in Louisville to serve physicians at KentuckyOne Health, a Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) healthcare organization.

Last year, MedSynergies and CHI announced an agreement to build a national management services organization (MSO), Catholic Health Initiatives Physician Services (CHIPS). The Louisville service center will provide key MSO services for KentuckyOne Health’s employed physicians.

“The roots of our mission are in providing convenient access to quality care for the patients in the areas we serve,” said Charlie Powell, president, KentuckyOne Health Medical Group. “With MedSynergies taking on these important back office functions, we’re able to focus more on our mission and meeting today’s healthcare industry challenges while remaining focused on delivering high-quality patient care.”

In establishing the service center, MedSynergies will transition approximately 150 employees to MedSynergies beginning this summer. These employees currently reside in a service center dedicated to KentuckyOne Health physician services. As part of this transition, the employees will move to a new MedSynergies facility located at 401 South Fourth St., Louisville, KY 40202. In addition to the service center employees, the new facility will house more than 30 employees dedicated to CHIPS.

“Louisville is a global leader in the health, wellness and aging care sector and the heart of that activity is downtown,” said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer. “It’s great to add more than 150 employees downtown and to see MedSynergies moving closer to the healthcare clients they are helping support and grow.”

As a company that specializes in providing physician services, MedSynergies will provide revenue cycle management, practice management and analytics, human resources and patient outreach, among other functions through this service center and CHIPS. By establishing standardization and best practices in these areas, KentuckyOne Health will strengthen its ambulatory operations to focus on providing quality patient care.

“This acquisition adds a talented workforce and expands our abilities to support critical business functions for KentuckyOne Health physicians and patients,” said J.R. Thomas, chief executive officer, MedSynergies. “The MedSynergies team is thrilled to come to Louisville to be closer to our clients and to have room for our business and our employees to grow while providing the quality service KentuckyOne Health’s employed physicians and patients expect.”

MedSynergies will occupy floors 16 and 17 of the 26-story downtown office. The company expects to open the service center in mid-July following the design and development of the office space.

“We are delighted that MedSynergies has decided to open a new location in downtown Louisville. This company represents the kind of talent attraction and investment that adds significantly to the region’s economic development and quality of life,” said Daryl Snyder, vice-president, economic development, Greater Louisville Inc. “The professional jobs the company offers mesh well with the important services they bring to the healthcare community. This is a win on every level.”
