KentuckyOne Health Physician to Discuss Benefits of Weight Loss Surgery
During Free Lebanon Seminar
Event Thursday, May 10 in Lebanon

Lebanon, Ky. (April 23, 2018) –KentuckyOne Health invites the community to learn about the benefits of weight loss surgery during an upcoming seminar on Thursday, May 10. The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Marion County Cooperative Extension Office, located at 416 Fairgrounds Road in Lebanon.

Robert Farrell, MD, KentuckyOne Health Weight Loss & Surgery Associates, will lead the seminar. Dr. Farrell will discuss procedures such as gastric bypass, adjustable gastric banding, and sleeve gastrectomy. Additional topics to be discussed include how to know if you are eligible for weight loss surgery, risks and benefits of surgery, how much weight will be lost after surgery, and whether insurance covers weight loss procedures.

“We are thrilled to offer community members this educational seminar, to help them learn more about the benefits of losing weight through surgery,” said Anna Culver, bariatric coordinator, KentuckyOne Health Weight Loss & Surgery Associates in Bardstown. “Obesity is the second leading cause of death in the United States, and Kentucky has the fifth-highest obesity rate in the country. There are many health risks that accompany obesity. For those who are unable to lose weight through lifestyle changes alone, surgical procedures may be beneficial.”

Advance registration for this seminar is requested. To preregister, call 502.350.5493, or visit www.kentuckyonehealth.org//library/default-tab-bar-back/free-weight-loss-surgery-seminar.
