KentuckyOne Health Partners Achieves “Elite 5-Star” Status
from America’s Physician Group

Louisville, Ky. (August 23, 2018) – KentuckyOne Health Partners (KHP), the state’s largest accountable care organization, has again achieved Elite 5-Star status from America’s Physician Group (APG), the nation’s leading professional association for accountable physician groups. KHP is one of only 87 organizations nationally, and the only group in Kentucky, to achieve the coveted Elite honor in 2018. The organization also received Elite status in 2017.

“Our success is directly attributed to our physicians’ focus – everyday – to provide better health, better care, better experience and lower cost for the patients we serve,” said Don Lovasz, President of KentuckyOne Health Partners. “KHP’s physicians are supported by a multidisciplinary team of health coaches, social workers and pharmacists, who ensure our patients receive the highest value, patient-centered care available.”

The Elite 5-Star status is earned through participation in APG’s Standards of Excellence Survey. Recognized as the industry standard to assess the delivery of accountable and value-based care, APG’s membership currently comprises over 300 medical groups and independent practice associations (IPAs) across 43 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Other medical groups receiving Elite status include Cedars Sinai Medical Group, Mercy Medical Group/Dignity, Scripps Physicians Medical Group, and The Permanente Medical Group.

Conducted annually, APG’s standard of excellence serve as a blueprint for assessing the tools and processes members have in place to meet escalating expectations. APG is the leading professional association for accountable physician groups in the U.S. Its members operate under a capitated, coordinated care model that is the essence of the nation’s health reform movement from volume to value. The survey helps set the bar for healthcare consumers to evaluate a physician group’s technical quality, responsive patient experience, and affordability. Every year, the survey includes new elements of demonstrated value to set a higher standard than the year before, reflective of the increasing expectations and advancing performance level of our physician organizations.

KentuckyOne Health Partners has been recognized three times among “100 Accountable Care Organizations to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review, and has been sighted in several national reports and publications.
