KentuckyOne Health Names Regional Chief Information Officer - Archived

Louisville, Ky. (April 25, 2014) – KentuckyOne Health has named Doug Jones, an information technology (IT) strategist with more than 30 years experience in health care management, as regional chief information officer (RCIO).

In his new role, Jones will oversee the organization’s IT strategy.

 

Most recently, Jones served as an independent consultant helping health care clients with IT strategy, mergers and acquisitions and clinical informatics. Jones has served as chief information officer for the California Region of Providence Health and Services. In that role he was responsible for IT support for five hospitals, two extended care facilities, two hospices, a medical foundation and a high school. His work experience also includes roles with Kaiser Permanente, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, MemorialCare Health System, Dearbour Advisors and First Consulting Group.

 

Jones holds a master of science in health policy and management from Harvard University, as well as a bachelor’s in biology from Haverford College in Haverford, Pa.

 

Jones has been a member of the American Medical Informatics Association since 1983. He is also a member of the Health

Jones has been a member of the American Medical Informatics Association since 1983. He is also a member of the Health Information Management Systems Society and College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and is a Computerworld 100 Premier IT Leaders Award recipient.
