CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in Lexington Welcomes Pediatric APRN

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 13, 2024) – CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care in Lexington welcomes Natalie Chelf, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, to its pediatric care team. A Lexington native, Chelf has a deep-rooted commitment to caring for children, initially launching her career locally in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). After eight years in the NICU, she began caring for patients throughout all childhood and adolescent years.

“While I loved working with infants, I really wanted to help children of all ages and expand my horizons by moving into the outpatient world,” said Chelf.

In her role, Chelf cares for children from birth to 17, which helps her form a trusted connection with them and their families from birth to the cusp of adulthood. “I love seeing the same patients over a period of time and watching them grow. It’s very rewarding to have this level of continuity in care,” said Chelf.

Chelf emphasizes to her patients and their parents and guardians that she wants to be a collaborative partner in their health care journey. She is looking forward to being a trusted caregiver to families in the Lexington area and said she treats her patients as if they’re her own, aiming to establish a profound sense of trust with both her patients and their families.

“I respect families first, and I want them to feel comfortable with the care they receive from me and stay involved in the process. I can bring medical knowledge, and parents and guardians bring their desires for their children, which makes for a great partnership for my patients.”

From an early age, Chelf had a dual passion for wanting to help kids and people, which led to her pursuing nursing. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University in 2014, and while simultaneously working full-time in a NICU, she pursued her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Kentucky in 2022. Chelf is board-certified by the Kentucky Board of Nursing and the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.

Outside the primary care office, Chelf is a pianist who has been playing since kindergarten and volunteers her talents for Northeast Christian Church in Lexington. She and her husband share two dachshunds.

Chelf is practicing at CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Primary Care, located at 211 Fountain Court Suite 120. To make an appointment, call 859.629.7245.
