The popular running event will take place in downtown Lexington on Saturday, August 10, with festivities beginning at 6 p.m.

“A Midsummer Night’s Run is a summertime tradition in central Kentucky. Runners and walkers from across the Bluegrass look forward to this special event every year,” said Jeff Murphy, vice president of marketing/communications for CHI Saint Joseph Health. “We are honored to be the presenting sponsor for the 35th anniversary of this event, as it demonstrates our belief that we are called to serve.”

Thousands of participants come out each year for this event, rain or shine. A Midsummer Night’s Run, presented by CHI Saint Joseph Health, is a family-friendly event that promotes an active lifestyle. It includes a variety of activities for the whole family, including a 5K Run/Walk, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, and a race for kids ages 2-13 to determine “The Fastest Kid in Town!”

“We are proud to partner with CHI Saint Joseph Health on the 35th running of A Midsummer Night’s Run,” said Bluegrass Sports Commission Board Chairman David Bertram. “This event is all about community … the Lexington community coming together to celebrate one last summer night and bringing together the great running community in Central Kentucky. This event is even stronger now that we are joined by a long-standing community partner such as CHI Saint Joseph Health.

This race event combines a great race course with an even better cause.
