Jewish Hospital to Host Bone Marrow Drive

In partnership with Be The Match (National Marrow Donor Program) and the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA), University of Louisville Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health, will host a bone marrow/organ donor registry drive to encourage people to join each registry. 

Marrow Registry: Every year, 12,000 people with a blood cancer like leukemia, or other disease like sickle cell anemia, need a marrow transplant to live.

Organ Registry: Currently, nearly 124,000 people are awaiting organ transplants in the United States, and many of them would be life-saving transplants.

WHEN:          Wednesday, December 10
                     10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

 

OPPORTUNITIES:

                       B-Roll/Photos of participants being screened as bone marrow donors
                       Interviews with bone marrow donors
                       Interviews with Be The Match/KODA personnel about the importance of signing up to be an
                       organ donor
