Flaget Memorial Hospital’s Walk With a Doc is opportunity to connect with physicians

Bardstown, Ky. (August 5, 2014)— While many parents are focused on their children’s health going back to school, it’s important for adults to stay active and focus on their health too. To help Bardstown residents stay in shape, Flaget Memorial Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health, will host its monthly Walk With a Doc event on Saturday, August 9, 2014.

Walk with a Doc events in Bardstown take place at 10 a.m. every second Saturday of the month at the Old Courthouse Building downtown (One Court Square). Walks are lead by a local physician.

Walk With a Doc is a nationwide program that empowers people to improve their health through physical activity by exercising side-by-side with their health care providers.

No special equipment or registration is needed to participate. All are welcome; participants are encouraged to invite family and friends to walk together toward a healthier lifestyle.

Physicians recommend that everyone engage in physical activity for 30 minutes, 5 days a week. Walking is an excellent opportunity for physical fitness as it requires no special equipment and can be done by most all fitness and skill levels.
