CHI Saint Joseph Health to Host 4th Annual Diabetes and Nutrition Expo - Archived

Lexington, Ky. (March 4, 2019) – CHI Saint Joseph Health will host its 4th annual Diabetes and Nutrition Expo on Saturday, March 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This expo is free to the community, and those living with diabetes and people who may be at risk for developing diabetes are encouraged to attend. The event will take place at the CHI Saint Joseph Health Office Park, Building D, 4th floor, located at 1451 Harrodsburg Road in Lexington.

The Diabetes and Nutrition Expo will offer resources for those currently living with, or at risk for, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and prediabetes. Attendees will have access to free educational seminars and health screenings, as well as vendors, giveaways and prizes.

The keynote speaker for the event will be Robert Salley, MD, cardiothoracic surgeon with CHI Saint Joseph Medical Group – Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Salley will discuss managing diabetes from a heart and vascular perspective beginning at 9 a.m.

Other seminars will include a panel discussion with a health care team about how to manage diabetes, as well as a healthy cooking demonstration by Chef Bob Denham. Free blood pressure screenings, HgbA1c testing, foot screenings, hearing and vision screenings, and kidney screenings will begin at 8 a.m.
