Flaget Memorial Hospital Honors Outstanding Employees with Daisy and Rose Awards for Exceptional Care

Bardstown, Ky. (December 4, 2019) — Flaget Memorial Hospital has announced the Daisy and Rose Award recipients for the third quarter of 2019. Diane Elliott, RN, Skilled Nursing Unit, was presented with the Daisy Award, and Stacey Hart, MT, Laboratory, earned the Rose Award.

The Daisy Award is a nationwide program that celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. Flaget Memorial Hospital is proud to be a Daisy Award Partner, recognizing a nurse with this special honor every quarter.

Elliott was nominated for the Daisy Award by multiple patients for her ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations. Her skill, patience and kindness were demonstrated to a patient’s wife, who then nominated Elliott for the Daisy Award.

“I observed Diane being patient and encouraging when my husband was in the hospital,” said the patient’s wife. “He was slow to respond and needy at times. Diane was very patient, kind and offered great advice and medical treatment.”

Similarly, the Rose Award is a program that honors Flaget Memorial Hospital’s non-nursing personnel. The Rose Award, short for Recognition of Service Excellence, celebrates the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to provide the best possible service.
Hart was nominated by her co-workers for the Rose Award. She was recognized for her constant willingness to go above and beyond to help her fellow staff members. Hart is quick and eager to tackle any task that helps take the burden off of another co-worker, even if that means taking on extra work herself.

“Stacey is a leader and a true asset to the Lab and to Flaget as a whole,” said a co-worker. “She doesn’t get nearly the recognition she deserves. I can’t think of a more deserving person for the Rose Award!”

Both award winners were recognized with flowers, a cookie cake, certificate and more.
