Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Foundation Awarded $36,000 Grant from WHAS Crusade for Children - Archived

Mount Sterling, Ky. (August 27, 2019) – Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Foundation has been awarded a grant for $36,000 from WHAS Crusade for Children. The foundation will contribute an additional $25,333 to purchase new GE Giraffe OmniBeds for the Birthing Center at Saint Joseph Mount Sterling.

The GE Giraffe OmniBeds are the latest, state-of-the-art birthing beds, perfectly suited to meet the needs of a busy birthing center. The new OmniBeds come with more advanced medical capabilities than previous models, which these beds will replace.

“The OmniBeds will allow Saint Joseph Mount Sterling to deliver the very best care to infants born with special needs, including Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome,” said Leslie Buddeke Smart, CFRE, president, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Foundation. “The Birthing Center will be better equipped to care for premature newborns and those affected with a fetal anomaly and respiratory disease until they can be transferred to a NICU. We believe that equipping the Birthing Center with this much-needed, updated, valuable equipment will improve patient outcomes and save lives.”
