Saint Joseph Mount Sterling Welcomes First Baby of 2019 - Archived

Mount Sterling, Ky. (January 2, 2019) - Saint Joseph Mount Sterling welcomed its first baby of 2019 at 4:41 p.m. on January 1. Andrew and Marie Edwards from Stanton welcomed Canaan Andrew Edwards. He weighed 8 lbs. and 9 oz. and was 20 ¼ inches long.

Each year, hospital staff work with local businesses to create a welcome wagon for the first baby born in the new year, including gift certificates, diapers, wipes and assorted gifts.

“We always look forward to the arrival of the first baby of the year and enjoy making this experience so special for families,” said Jennifer Chism, Director of Nursing, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling. “We appreciate all the local businesses that donated items to give to this family.”

Saint Joseph Mount Sterling delivered 247 babies in 2018.
