Flaget Memorial Hospital Honors Employees with Daisy and Rose Awards

Bardstown, Ky. (May 2, 2018) — Flaget Memorial Hospital, part of KentuckyOne Health, has named Daisy Award and Rose Award winners for the first quarter of 2018. Hannah Downs of Bloomfield, Ky., RN, Skilled Nursing Unit at Flaget Memorial Hospital, was the recipient of the Daisy Award. Marsha Jaurez of Bloomfield, Ky., CNA, Skilled Nursing Unit at Flaget Memorial Hospital, received the Rose Award.

The Daisy Award is a nationwide program that celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. KentuckyOne Health is proud to be a Daisy Award Partner, recognizing a nurse with this special honor every quarter.

Hannah Downs was nominated by her patients for the care she provided to them while at Flaget Memorial Hospital.

“Hannah is professional in the way she gets her work done and always makes the time to sit down and listen,” said one patient. “She was compassionate toward me while remaining respectful and supportive.”

Similarly, the Rose Award is a program that honors Flaget Memorial Hospital’s non-nursing personnel. The Rose Award, short for Recognition of Service Excellence, celebrates unsung heroes who work tirelessly to provide the best possible service.

Marsha Juarez was nominated by patients and their family members for her positive attitude and compassionate care.

“Marsha was very upbeat with my dad,” said one patient. “She went above and beyond to keep him comfortable while treating him, which was a huge help during his time at the hospital. She does her job with confidence and pride. We appreciated the top-notch care.”

The Daisy Award winner will receive a certificate, Daisy Award pin and a hand carved stone sculpture. The Rose Award winner is honored with a certificate, Rose Award pin and a bouquet of roses to display in her department.
