Joint Preservation and Reconstruction Specialists

Our surgeons are innovators in surgical techniques designed to preserve as much bone and function as possible. Our multidisciplinary approach to care includes a comprehensive evaluation and use of specialized diagnostic equipment to diagnose and treat joint conditions such as osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, osteonecrosis, post-traumatic arthritis and other disorders. If you suffer from any of these conditions, a hip or knee replacement may benefit you.

We also treat specific disorders in young adults, including hip dysplasia, osteonecrosis of the femoral head, post-traumatic non-union and mal-union of the proximal femur, early osteoarthritis, old slipped capital femoral epiphyses and other developmental deformities of the hip and knee.

Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing

Rehabilitation for those undergoing either joint reconstruction or replacement begins immediately after surgery. The rehabilitation team helps patients progress through a range of rehabilitation exercises to enhance range of motion and strengthening around the joint.

Inpatient and outpatient therapy are available, and we offer a Skilled Nursing Unit on site to continue your recovery. The Skilled Nursing Unit is a rehabilitation program designed to help patients rehabilitate and return home as soon as possible. Our team includes a nurse, therapist/s, social worker and Activities Director who meet with each patient to set individual goals for recovery.

What Our Patients are Saying

"Everybody I know is surprised that I came down here from Louisville for surgery. But I had a good experience with the first knee replacement I had done at Flaget last year, and this year I had a good experience again with the second knee surgery."

"The staff here is great, from nursing to housekeeping to physical therapy. If they have a bad day, you'd never know it. It's a close-knit place that feels like family. To me, the bigger hospitals don't have the time for you. They're too busy. I'd choose this hospital over any I've ever been in."

"Everybody at Flaget has been awesome. When you come in to be admitted, they give you the opportunity to ask questions. They're on their toes. When you come in for surgery, they get right to it. If I could have any surgery done at Flaget, any procedure, I'd have it done here. They're absolutely great."
